GJP offers a comprehensive 4-year study program comprised of 180 students across 8 classes. Over the years, a significant number of our graduates have successfully pursued diverse university study programs, subsequently securing lucrative employment opportunities. Our faculty comprises of highly qualified and university-trained educators.

Aligned with the national framework educational programme for four-year grammar schools, our curriculum encompasses a balance of science, humanities, and visual arts. In adherence to the Education Act no. 561/2004, we have tailored the curriculum to ensure students are well-prepared for the Equal School-Leaving Examination (equivalent of the British A-levels).

Our state-of-the-art facilities include a fully equipped computer laboratory with unlimited Internet access. Mandatory English language classes are complemented with a choice of German, Spanish, or French as the second compulsory foreign language. From the third grade onward, students have the option to explore a third foreign language. Furthermore, to enhance their English proficiency, students benefit from instruction by a native English speaker throughout their academic journey.

During their third and fourth years, students can select from a diverse array of elective courses, empowering them to actively participate in structuring their individual educational experience. Beyond conventional subjects, optional classes encompass disciplines such as music, philosophy, psychology, politology, economics, and IT, among others.

Admission to Jan Palach Grammar School is contingent upon performance in the entrance examination, which comprises state exams in Czech language and Mathematics, supplemented by school-conducted interviews. Applicants” genuine interest in attending our institution carries significant weight, alongside their academic achievements in primary school. Additionally, results from The National Comparative Examination organized by the SCIO Foundation (www.scio.cz) are considered in the selection process.

Upon completion of the entrance examination, applicants receive notification of acceptance or rejection within 7 days, with results published on our website and school notice board under confidential identification numbers. Prospective students are welcome to visit GJP for consultations with the Headmaster or Director of Studies regarding the entrance examination and study program.

Beyond academics, GJP offers many extracurricular activities, including student exchange programmes, international tours, the school camp in the countryside, intensive sports courses, cultural outings, and artistic endeavors. Collaborating with partner schools worldwide, including institutions in the Netherlands, the United States, Canada, and Germany, GJP actively fosters global educational exchanges and is an active participant in Erasmus+ projects.
